Spinlock with Delay

Selamat siang teman – teman sekalian. Kali ini saya akan mencoba untuk mereview sebuah video dari youtube terkait dengan salah satu materi ajaran OS. Video yang saya review kali ini berjudul “Spinlocks With Delay - Georgia Tech - Advanced Operating Systems” terkait dengan materi syncronization yang diupload oleh Udacity pada tanggal 23 Februari 2015. Ringkasan Video

Spinlock adalah salah satu teknik untuk melakukan sinkronisasi yang diterapkan pada Windows. Spinlock with delay bisa dibayangkan sebagai sebuah lalu lintas yang padat pada saat jam – jam sibuk.  Karena kita tahu lalu lintas tersebut padat kita memutuskan untuk menunda sampai kepadatan berkurang sehingga waktu yang kita habiskan pada saat dijalanan berkurang. Ada dua cara untuk melakukan delay yaitu delay after lock release dan delay with exponential backoff. Delay membuat algoritma spinlock menjadi lebih baik daripada yang tidak menggunakan delay.

              Penyampaian konten pada video ini melalui media papan tulis seperti video – video materi semacamnya. Diawal video pemateri menyampaikan pengertian tentang spinlock with delay ini menggunakan contoh pada kehidupan nyata sehingga mudah dipahami karena menurut saya materi ini merupakan materi yang tidak mudah. Untuk menjelaskan macam – macam spinlock with delay pemateri memberikan contoh codingan dan menjelaskan step – step pada codingan tersebut. secara keseleruhan penjelasan yang diberikan cukup jelas.
